Everyone with anything even resembling a sense of decency acknowledges that Columbine was a terrible tragedy. But some of the things that have come out of it sicken me. We should take practical, RATIONAL steps to help prevent this sort of thing, but we should not give into hysteria. The problem is, when it comes to the idea of children being killed or endangered, a lot of people become consomed by fear and turn into hysterical idiots. I know that is a harsh statement. I feel bad for these people, and I am deeply sorry for their loss, and it is understandable that many of them are not thinking rationally about this, but that does not mean that I will in any way condone actions that they take which are clearly wrong.

If they want to find who was responsible for the massecre, in the end there is only one source to blame, and that is the people who did the killing. I am sick and tired of all the scape-goating and whining and trying to blame everyone and everything but the murderers themselves. And murderers they were. These were not some innocent naive kids, nor were they the mindless drones of a violent subculture. They were old enough to know what they were doing, and they should be held accountable for their actions. No one forced these butchers to go and kill their class-mates. They were not brainwashed by video games, tv, or anything else either. They made a conscious decision.

Again, we need REAL solutions to violence in schools and elsewhere, not a bunch of hysterical garbage. I hope the case gets thrown out so quickly that those greedy bastard lawyers won't know what hit them.

One last thought .... I am the only one who noticed that the media never paid anywhere near this kind of attention to school violence until it begin to happen to middle-class white kids?
