Using common sense I don't think they would win this but we all know that the current legal system is not based on common sense or logic. In no way does Doom or any other game for that matter tell you to go to school and shoot fellow classmates. I've played games like Doom, Mechwarrior, Half-Life, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil and I still maintain a strong sense of right and wrong. If you ask me some of the parents are to blame in this situation. There were a couple of students that were taunted by bullies at school so the next day these students went to school and shot them all, videogames do not play a role in this. The parents of the bullies should of taught them to common decency and respect for other people. The parents of this group of kids that shot everyone (trenchcoat mafia was it called?)should of taught them between right and wrong. It seems to me that in the last few years parents have not been taking responsibility for their actions. My parents taught me the difference between right and wrong as well as respect and for others I have been playing videogames with violence in them since I was young and I haven't killed anyone, or ever plan to.

What are they going to do next? If a child reads a book with violence in it and then goes out and hurts someone are the parents going to sue the writer and the publisher? The Illiad is completly based on war and violence, I am suprised no one has sued the Greek government yet.
