Subject: I hate my car.

Anyone got a gun? I want to put my car out to pasture Old Yeller-style. Sigh. Yesterday morning I got in my lovely '95 Chevy Corsica, turned the key and got nothing. No engine turning over. No power door locks working. No lights. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero. So I had to call a tow truck to get the thing off the street (further bad luck: it was parked on the side that was to be street-cleaned, so I needed it moved in less than 2 hours or face a nice parking violation fine) and moved to the repair place 4 BLOCKS from my apartment. The repairguys certainly took their sweet time looking at it since I didn't hear back from them till after 3:30 pm (I dropped it off at 9:00 am). The battery had a short and the gasket lid was leaking oil. So over $200 later, I pick the stupid thing up. I try to drive it out of the garage and immediately get a "Service Engine Soon" warning light. The car starts doing a surge forward-stop, surge forward-stop motion, so I turn it off and head back into the shop. One of the mechanics comes out and tells me that one of the cables must have disconnected. He reconnects it and my car works fine again (though I'm left feeling a lot less confident about the work they did).

As this is the second time in less than six months that my car has needed a towing (thank God it didn't breakdown in Beverly Hills again!), I'm going to trade in my POS in about two weeks (once I get some money for a down payment together). Any suggestions on what I should get? I'm thinking of a 4-door sedan style car for less than $15,000. Sigh. I'm gonna be broke for the next four years...

- Aaron (is having one of those weeks)
