He what? he says, surprised. He looks at Frostbite. How is Mom? And Grandma and Grandpa, how are they?

Mom is fine, Grandma and Grandpa are thinking of moving here. You know, peaceful settings, lots of wolves. A lot of the wolves back home have left. Cloud and Terrin did. She sees the look of sorrow cross Carone's face.

His face turns puzzled after a moment. Cloud and Terrin? What's... he goes silent, and the rest of the meadows seems to do the same. His eyes glaze over as he stares past Frostbite, past the meadows, past BPC, into the horizon, on the virge of tears. How could she go with... that... that... that jackass! That dirty bastard! That greedy, sex-hungry pig! That asshole who nearly killed me!

Bewilderment sweeps Frostbite. Almost killed you? What the hell do you mean?! Tell me!

It was nothing, really, I just don't want to talk about it... he looks away from Frostbite, back towards the den where Jade and Jasper had run. It's a good thing they left, or Silvara'd whip my ass for swearin in front of em.
