Klaus knew why thw olves didn't seem to like him. His blade frightened them. He looked down at his blade and his eyes filled with sadness. He looked into the eyes of the older wolf once again and said

"I understand. You're afraid of my blade. But you must believe me. I would never use it to harm a fellow wolf. Unless they were threatening to hurt me. So I hope your snarling isn't a challenge, because you wouldn't win"

He then drew back his lips into a snarl and waited for a reply. Then he thought better and smiled at her.

"I wouldn't hurt a female anyway. It's not a manly thing to do"

He suddenly noticed how beutiful the she-wolf was. He sat up straight and puffed out his chest to look larger than he was. "These wolves look like they need protection" he thought to himself. He reached over with his tail and touched her shoulder and said

"I'm sorry if I frightened you. I was captured by humans a long while ago. and they fastened this blade to my tail and made me ight other wolves for a game. But I have escaped and I am looking for a place to stay. I over heard your conversation about your journey. I would be very pleased to company you you."

He kept his tail on her shoulder and looked down at the pups who were huddling very close to The she-wolf. he could have sworn theywere her pups.
