Thank you for the advise. First of all, Wilbur is at least 8 months old but I do not have an accual age. I did take Wilbur to the Vet and she was unable to really find anything. She felt he may have a low grade intestinal infection and we have just completed a full 10 days of antibiotics. Wilbur is eating better-everything except the pellets. He eats a lot of hay and drinks plenty of water. He eats the carrot tops, beet greens, and grass I give him. A breeder friend told me that she remembers Wilbur from the show curcuit and he was never much of an eater. She recommended that I mix oatmeal in with his pellets. I did that and he picks all the oats out of the pellets and leaves the pellets. I am concerned about giving him too much of these "goodies". The books I have read say that these greens should be considered like "candy" and given sparingly. The books only talk about oats as ways to give extra nutition to does with babies and to help overweight rabbits slim down. Wilbur only weighs 2 pounds. I do not want him to slim down. I talked with our vet again last night. (She was reading her books on rabbits) We decided to mix up 1/2 cup greens (carrot tops), 1 tblsp fruit (apples), 1 tblsp pellets, and 1 tsp oatmeal (people oatmeal) and see if he would eat it. He picked out the carrot tops and the oatmeal and left the rest. Any thoughts on the matter?
