Let Harvey get use to you. Make sure when you pickup your bun that one hand is placed on the lower back (buttocks like position) with the other being placed on the upper chest. This will prevent your bun from being able to kick and possibly break its back. Talk softly or hum to your bun while holding him. Avoid perfumes- cleaning agents
as these may be irrating to Harvey. Most rabbits find it soothing. Using your fingers gently massage the body. Most rabbits don't like being placed on their backs. That
comes with time and trust. Also make sure your rings or buttons on clothing are not sticking or pulling on fur. Also, each of my four rabbits are alike when they need to
relieve themselves. Each one gets fidgety (one even tries to verbally communicate) when being held and the nature urge strikes; and I appreciate their thoughtfulness. You might
even find the site http://www.muriade.com/rabbits/rabbittalk_intro.html. It's the language of Lagomorphs and it really works! Last but least, make sure Harvey hasn't hurt himself and touching in some places are downright tender. Please let me know it this has been helpful. Email to lesquire@hotmail.com
