>=I found two rabbits Sunday night hopping around lose. I came home to get my son & a mesh bag in case we were able to catch them. How sad they were just running around lose in a subdivision. The black one & the white one tried to stand next to each other face to rump to rump to face. I'm assuming they were mates & I hated breaking them up. The black one finally took off but the white one was just wondering around us & let us pick him up. So we were able to catch the white one & came home & made a homemade rabbit cage out of a frame for a window airconditioner & covered openings with that ventilated closet shelving. Not bad for the middle of the night. Then hit 7/11 for a fruit bowl & a chef's salad. It was one in the morning at this time. I have a few questions. First of all, what kind of rabbit is it. We did have a bunny bath & removed all mattings, grease, dirt etc. It's white with big brown eyes & a pink nose & white whiskers. It has short brownish ears which are hairless toward the back of them & brown on it's paws & tail. I tried to weigh him/her by holding & subtracting my own weight against holding him & then sat him on the scale alone. He barely is 1 lb. & very friendly. Second question, he seems to sneeze once in a while & I also noticed his nose running with a little white mucus. Could he be getting a cold? We live in South Florida. He is kept on a screened patio & only gets the early morning sun. It does heat up out there to about 90 so I've been keeping a box fan going during the day as well as the ceiling fans. He seems to like laying in front of the breeze. Next question is I also have a very sweet Rottweiler female 4 yrs old. She seems very curious of Bugsy, wags her tail & cries but gets jealous is we show the bunny attention. She even made sure all HER toys were removed from the patio. I don't think she would eat Bugsy but I'm afraid the 85 lb dog could play to rough & hurt him by accident...what do you think? Sorry this is so long. Never had a bunny before & never posted on a message board either. Thanks for any input.
