Walkergate Liberal Democrats have written to John Prescott MP Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport & Regions on behalf of local residents in the Jasmine Close Area of Walkergate, to call for a Public Inquiry into the planned building of a new gymnasium at Benfield Road School Walkergate.
Roland Beare � Leader of the Walkergate Liberal Democrat FOCUS Team said �Residents feel they were not given enough time at a recent planning meeting to make their view felt. We are asking John Prescott to call the proposed development in because there is an obvious loss of amenity, natural light & physical size of the building. Neither ourselves or the residents are against the building of a new gym in principle, however we do believe it is being sited far to near residents homes.�
