Dear all,
Dr Tan would like to remind all that the dateline for the honours thesis is to be firmly adhered to and set at 15 March 2002. I have reflected some of your requests for an extension to him and he has firmly rejected the idea, citing that :-

1) since all of us are bounded by the same constraints and no one has any headstart, we should all be bounded by the same dateline too.
2)he has expressed his view that though the thesis is important, the module that we are taking this semester should not be neglected too. ( what he is saying is that we still have a paper to do for that module and we should spare some time for that). The weightage for the honours program is based on 4 modules and the thesis, and not just the thesis alone. He has strongly advised us not to neglect the module that we are taking this semester. In other words, the semester ends in April, not on March 15.

In his words, he has encouraged us to press on, though I highly doubt that these words will have any therapeutic effect for some of you.
