Subject: REILLY Hugh

Grand Uncle Hugh REILLY went to live in Co Cavan after WW1, it is not known whether he returned to Australia first, but seems unlikely. He was the 3rd youngest son of Farrell and Susan Jane REILLY, they married in Co Cavan in 1879, Farel/FARRELL's parents were Peter REILLY and Mary MYLES. Farrell and Susan Jane, must have had one son at sea on the way out here, they then had 10 other children. Philip the 2nd youngest was my grandfather. Farel/Farrell was Christened at Drumgoon in 1845.
My other Gr Grandfather was also b. Co CAVAN IN 1865 at Kilnacola Bailieborough. William McELWAIN was the son of James McELWAIN and Mary Anne Parker. Don't know yet when William arrived in Australia, but he and Farrell ended up in the same area of Victoria, and Farrell's son Philip m. William's daughter Annie Veronica.
