巳有一段時間小燕子沒上英語堂了, 今天她重回課室向David Crowe學習來也。
小燕子這次顯得很與奮, 破口問道…
小燕子：帝子兒(teacher), 快樂英語怎麼說?
小燕子做出一幅興高采烈的神態。
David ： Happy.
小燕子：哈皮? 哈哈哈…可真令人快樂呀! 好, 哈皮。那農曆新年呢?
咚咚咚鏘, 油樓(You know)?
David：Oh…Chinese new year!
小燕子：猜…
David ：Chinese new year.
小燕子：猜你是…牛衣兒。哈哈…哈皮猜你是牛衣兒。哈皮猜你是牛衣兒,
帝子兒。
筆者曰：華人/中國人祝賀人家時多用”快樂”二字。英國人除了happy, 還有merry;
merry Christmas, merry go-round也有。白天可祝人have a nice day, 傍晚可說what a lovely evening。小燕子常說快樂得像只老鼠, 英國人卻說happy as a sandboy, happy as Larry, happy as the day is long. 像老鼠嘛, 他們說quiet as a mouse. See, 中英二文對動物在語言上的運用思維可大不相同呢! Ok, 無論如何, 愿祝薇薇和大伙兒馬年…get on a horse and get there…馬到功成啦!!!
