what is so complicated about this? You're not doubling up on anything. Two halves is one whole, right? Using the method described in Bell's post and re-described in my last post you end up with two piles each containing 2 halves of A and two halves of B. That makes one A pill and one B pill in each pile. If you take one pile one day and one pile the next day you have just taken your medication exactly as indicated from the puzzle, no doubling up at all.
