Vent away pal, that's what friends and message boards are for! I hate that you are being treated this way and that it is causing you so much stress. Sounds like the son and girlfriend definitely have some things they need to work on like honesty and courtesy to name a couple...and they should not be having those type of conversations in front of or within earshot of the kids either. A definite no-no.

So is the house in your name then? The one you bought for them and make payments on when they don't make them? If so, I'd sell the house asap so you won't be saddled with the payments and the upkeep.

As to the move and the grandkids, that's a toss up on that one...whether to confront your son and see what he does/says or whether to lay low and see what else you can find out...if you lay low you need to be sure you have a way of tracking them or have a friend who's car they don't know follow them. If they leave town and you don't know where they are, you can always go to the post office and see if they left a forwarding address...just thinking out loud here...or if it came to it maybe your trooper friend could help or get one of his contacts to assist if you need to find them later.

Glad you shared this with us and I just wish I could do more. Keep posting and let us know what youd decide to do, k?

Huggers,
T.
