I went to the ENT, he explained (throat problem)that I have nodules on my thyroid. So I have to have more bloodword (again). Why don't they just keep a drain thing in my arm & just turn it off and on LOL!!! Now, I know my PCP has done thyroid bloodwork many, many times, as recently as May (after my throat symptoms started) and it is always normal. Also my rheumy did a ton of bloodwork in July, I have to check with her to see if she did thyroid stuff. My throat still hurts, voice still keeps getting raspy & I am still having difficulty swallowing. So none of that has changed. Aaaaaaarrrrrggghhhhhh!!!!
I also have to for an ultrasound of my thyroid. So depending on what those tests show, I may have to see an endocrinologist.
My rheumy is sending me to a GI doc for a upper endoscopy & biopsy of small bowel, that appt is next week (oh joy!) I've never had one of those, and it doesn't sound very fun. She thinks I am allergic to wheat. I don't quite understand why you have to prove it this way. It showed up in my bloodwork. It never did before, I've had allergy testing done w/ allergists twice as an adult - other foods came up, never wheat. I like wheat, I will miss it :(( if I have to give it up, so I am still eating it for now!
So of course with all this nonsense of worring about thyroid and what this endoscopy is going to be about, my pain level is waaaaaaaay up. Every day my head aches are soooooooo bad :(((. My neuro wants to start me on Depakote to help prevent them, but wanted to wait until we figured out what was wrong with my throat.
I feel like I am juggling too many doctors - rheumy, ENT, neuro, GI doc (haven't met him yet) maybe endocrinologist? Yikes!!!At least I did get a script for PT from the rheumy for general FM myofascial pain, I'm calling the PCP for the referral. So I hope the PT will help w/ pain by massage.
I just needed an outlet today. Thanks for being here to listen. Heve a pain free night everyone.
Hugs,
Patty
