Robert,
Iwas at Tan Son Nhut from about April of 68 through Mar. of 69. I am searching for some of the same info for the same reason. I was an aircraft radio repair tech. My hootch was on the same road as the PX or slightly behind, halfway between the main gate and Heliport. My claim involves sometime around Christmas season of 68. Some do-gooder Col. decided to boost base morale and place a lighted cross on an old radio antenna. Bothered me quite a bit since I wast just about under it. As expected, rocket/motar attack with one dud landing behind my hootch, one hit the heliport and one just to the left in the army compound with dead and injured. I have a base layout giving "sectors" labeled with the alphabet but I do not know who was where. I am trying to start the process by identifying which units were hit so I can research their records. Not sure what army unit was right beside us with chow hall and hootches or which helicopter unit lost a bird.I think I have a slide of the radio tower. My email is dawkinsl@bellsouth.net. That is dawkins with the small letter el. Your posting was quite some time ago so I am not sure if you will see this. Let me know via my regular email as I will probably not be able to find my way back here.
