Two firgures were barely perceptible on the horizon line. Ty and K'u trudged onward, feuled only by their desire to find their brother and the occasional wherry jerky.
"You should have let Corath and Hanarth take us" Tyrre remarked offhandedly
"Yeah, so. I've heard reports that they have a rider with them. I wouldn't want one of them to get torched, would you?"
"No...but..."
"None of that now. Do you have your-" Tyrre's sword at his throat cut him off mid sentance.
"This your highness?"
"Yup, give it to me. You don't know how to use it well anyway"
"Yeah, so! I'm learning!"
"Stick to your martial arts, leave the swords to big boys"
"Who, like you? You couldn't even stop Yohji from leaving"
A silence drifted up as the conversation convulsed and then died. Ty knew she had hit the wrong nerve.
"Look, Kou - I mean K'u. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up"
"Nono, it's fine, and you can call me Kou. Corath's not here, I'm not a dragonrider right now"
The two got nearer to the hideout.
((Kou fights with paired kodachi usually, and is good with swords. Ty's martial arts, mostly kick attacks. Yohji's good with bagnuks{{tiger claws}} and his katana. Just an FYI))

She jumped out and hurried into the cave. She raced to her own cave and took all of her belongings, tools, and half-finished projects. She carefully stored them under the seat of the cart, before rushing back in. She took all of the suplies she could mannage and loaded them into the cart. She went back again, retreving the last of the supplies. Knowing of the soon to be fight she left the silk thread, felis, bandage rolls, wine, numbweed, and healing salve, along with some food. She took all the weapons off the rack and loaded it in the cart. She took all the tools and the small daggers, but left the other weapons, in case they were needed by the fighting renegades. She looked around the cave, making sure she hadn't forgotten anything. She jumped on the shire mare runner nearby, and grabbed the halters of the other runners and thier tack, leaving the suplies for Flamewind and Ara. She lead the cart-beasts and runners back to the cave, stopping only long enough to round up the heardbeasts. With all the renegade's supplies saftly with her, she left the Crom cave for good.

Basillisk quickly darted over to the weapons rack and drew a long sword. He buckled on a sheath and stowed it, quickly he gathered his few posesions, a small sack of marks, an ornate bow he had gotten off some idiot and the golden bracelet he plundered from the smith hall. He checked all his daggers, and darted out of the cave to where Flamewind, was waiting. "You can go, find a new cave I'll join up later, but for now I'm staying to see what these guys want. If its our lives, then I'll give them a show that they will always remember." He lept up onto his mount and waited for the dragons.

For the first event in this little competition, I want you to go out and steal something. This sounds pretty basic, but it actually takes a lot of thought. You renegades must consider where, how, and what you are going to steal. I will judge you on several things, and I will then give you a rank(Grand master, master, thief, and cursed). I will give you a hint. One of the things I will grade on is rp skills. You have about two days to do this, I will give standings on Sunday night, or monday morning. Have fun and do well.(Another Hint: A good renegade always alows an element of risk)

Ingold Inglorion scuttles through the thorns that hide the cave's secret exit. It was quite well hidden, and most people would merely see an overgrown thornbush, but he had noticed the tell-tale signs of human planting, and had ventured far enough to discover the secret entrance. He crept along using his spiderweb-and-tree-sap to cling to the cave roof until he neared the exit. Then he stpes outside, walking stealthily, and taps the leader on the shoulder.

A young man with a lute on his back stumbles up the hill, with frequent pauses for falling over or bumping into parts of the landscape. His clothes are bright and in extremely poor taste, providing a garish contrast to his dark brown hair and brown eyes. At last he nears the cave mouth and attempts a bow, managing to fall over once again in the process. During this, his satchel flies open, spilling papers out for the playfull breeze to toy with. With an inarticulate cry of anguish, the hapless minstrel chases his music all over the hill. A few sheets even drift into the cave, to provide merriment for anyone who picks them up. The minstrel once again walks up to the cave mouth, managing to retain his balance, then makes a small bow, amnaging not to tumble over this time. Then, in a rather braethless voice he begins to sing. Even though his voice is possibly the worst ever heard, the music concerns the renegades.
Over many a glade have I wandered,
To pursue my glorious visions.
For my mule from me was plundered,
Whilst I stopped to buy provisions.
I have searched both far and near,
For the fearless renegades.
And because I am no seer,
I fruitlessly searched the glades.
But finally I have found ye.
(Or at least I hope I have)
For my voice is mighty weary,
From singing into every cave.
I am searching for these rebels
Who carry freedom's flag.
Who, unlike some holders,
Will not a minstrel gag.
I have come to join you
And spread your glories far.

[(OOC-Yes, he did stop to sing this song into any cave he could find that was far from human habitation. This helps to explain why most caves are uninhabited except by tunnel-snakes, who are tone-deaf to begin with.)]

Yohji smiles and accepts the sai gratefully. They would come in handy, along with the bagnuks he had left in his room. He sighed and went into the cave, following Basillisk. He arrived at his room shortly, and slid off his shoes. He went through the narrow crack in the rock face that led to his room, and began to get comfy. He had found a blanket at Lemos that he now spread over a thicker blanket that was his traveling bed. Parts of it were thin, almost thread-bare. He had been on the road so long. True, there had been the time he had considered stopping. Her He sighed and shook his head.
"She's gone. I need to focus now. Maybe Gryffen..." He trailed to himself. He stripped of his shirt and weapons and wetted a cloth over by the water source that ran through his room. He washed his face neck and torso, taking special care over a faded dark scar on his upper arm. The wound given to him had never truly healed, he never wanted it to.

The gallop of hooves is heard outside as Basillisk comes racing in on his runner, Flamewind. He hops off, grabs two saddlebags, and lets his runner go off to graze. He walks in quickly taking in the changes, he spots the newcomers. "Hello, renegades. I'm back(from his mysterious trip). I see we have newcomers. For all you who don't know me I am Basillisk, the leader of this band. I'll briefly describe the group in case Gryffen didn't already. We here are renegades, we live well with out doing much work. We all help each other out, and we keep the workload as even as possible. Nobody will be provided for without doing their share of the work. Everyone who does work gets a relatively even distribution of marks, and food, and gets to keep some of the loot. Gryffen, I am taking charge again but you are still second and you still have the second highest authority, although I shall soon be having a formal competition to decide who will be the next second in command. Oh, and I almost forgot, I got a little grift for everyone while I was out. Gryfffen, I got you an auger for your woodworking, Yojhi, a pair of Sai, Ancillo, your first dagger, Chimera, I know how much you like dragons so I "borrowed" a small sculpted dragon, I see Kyssandra and Z'yith are both away but I got them both pairs of new wheryhide boots, Raisa two bigger sturdier saddlebags, and I wasn't sure if there would be new people so..." rummages in his bag "for the boy(Keman) here is a flit egg(from a green) I picked up and the other one(Rykerah) here is a beltknife. Its alot of stuff but I have been gone for a while. If any of you wish to talk to me I'll be in my quarters." He turns and walks down one of the torch-lit corridors.

+The renegade returning, not bothering to urge her runner out of the swift walk that he'd taken to during the journey. No one seemed to care about what she did, which was fine with her, as long as she wasn't bound to anyone and could be left to herself. Noticing the appearance of four new runners and a canine when she entered the cave, she shrugged and set to the task of checking the stallion. Seeing no signs of hoof rot or sore muscles, she tied him to a post and took off her sack, dumping most of her findings in the small store that they had accumulated:+

Grimacing, she found the bandage roll and reapplied the bandage, inhaling sharply through clenched teeth. Pain is a weakness. Those who are weak die at the hands of the strong.... The words resounded in her head and she kept her pain stifled, refusing to give it a voice. Finished, she rolled her pant leg down and took off her other shoe, leaning against the wall and falling into an alert sort of sleep+

(For once, yeah...and about 15 clubs to play with numerous chars and I'll sop making exscuses and just post Z'yith. It won't be nothing spectaular 'cause I only got *checks watch* two minutes. Oh, and the canine Z'yith took, it wasn't actually one of the mother's pups. Just a random mongrel.)
Aosuth landedand instantly made himself comfortable in the grass. His faceted eyes closed and he dozed off without a sound. Z'yith smiled slightly and slid off the brown, carefully prying the large claws off the horrified runner. He mentally reminded himself never to let Aosuth carry anything that moved, it caused a lot of complications. By the time he had calmed the runner down, Aosuth had rolled over, letting everything else fall off his back. Z'yith's brown eyes widened, then narrowed. His dragon -what a pain. He scooped up the bag and set it with everything else. He spotted Kyssandra with a runner and shrugged mentally.
'Oh well'

Z'yith snapped irritably, but felt a pang of guilt for snapping at his one friend. He sighed again and sat down, leaning against Aosuth and watching the others.

He had been on his own for several months now, and was quite quiet, although he had no doubt been noticed by someone at the Hold; he hadn't seen anybody when he came in, but there was probably people there, he figured. I know two of you went into the Kennels, I think it was Chimera and Z'yith. The pup's disappearances have a chance to be noticed by the mother, who has a player, by the way. The runner doesn't have a player that Z'yith took, besides that place was unnoticed and fair game. But the mother dog will protect her young'ns, though I think Chimera would still get away with one. After successfully calming the two herders, Yohji and the former-drudge made a makeshift fencing around a small plot of land for the two that backed up against the rock face of the cave. It took them a while to get it to a stopping point, the main frame was up, but if they tried, it wouldn’t stop the two herd beasts.
The boy sprawled out on his back in the fresh grass, looking up at the sky and his newfound freedom. He had never expected anything like this to happen to him, a chance encounter like that… His hand went to his neck, where Yohji’s knife had been. He’d never seen a person look so fierce, or so brave. It had impressed him immediately, and he wanted to become like that: fearless, brave, noble, and strong. He vowed to himself there that he would never let himself be used by other people again, or to be put down upon by other people.

Yohji sat a couple of paces away, his knees half-drawn up to his chest. He stared off over the hills and plains, his mind wandering. Yohji, he heard her sweet voice ring, One day, lets travel all over Pern. See what’s beyond this place, beyond all of it. Lets fly one day Yohji He closed his eyes. He could still remember the way she looked in the moonlight, the sway of her body, the feel of her hand intertwined with his. He could still remember the sweet smell of her dark red hair, and the feel of its softness as it slipped through his fingers.
“Umm, Sir?” the boy said, breaking Yohji’s lamentations.
“Call me Yohji”
“Yohji, I was wondering…could you…me…Could you teach me?”
Yohji looked into the boys questioning brown eyes. Reflections of bronze and gold came from the deep wells.
“Teach you what?”
“Well, how to…be like you. How to fight, steal…”
“Listen, You don’t want to be like me. You don’t want this”
“Yes I do!” The boy sat up “Please, listen to me! Let me be your disciple!”
Yohji’s eyes widened, the boy was determined. He smirked.
“Alright, I’ll train you. BUT so will Basillisk. He knows things I don’t. Any thing we ask you to do you do, without hesitation”
The boy nodded enthusiastically, that would be easy. Yohji smiled.
“What’s your name boy?”

Yohji looked at him in disbelief. Had really no one named this child?

The sound of hooves grows louder and a moo is heard as
Basillisk comes darting over the hills on Flamewind, driving the herdbeasts to the cave. "Yojhi!" he yells, give me a hand with these beasts. He pulls out a rope, ties it, and with some difficulty he manages to get one of the beasts. He continues the process, keeping the animals at bay.

(It might not seem like much, but I had my hands full with the herdbeasts, and I don't judge a renegade by the amount of stuff that he/she steals. But I unfortunately, don't have the time to judge a contest right now, so Gryffen is temporarily your leader till I get back(about a week) I have to go now. C U in a week.

Three runnerbeasts galloped over the hills, two being ridden, one being led. A young boy on a bay whooped and yelled, he was finally free! Yohji laughed beside him. The steal hadn't been much, but three runnerbeasts had been hard. Luckily, a banquet had just been held, and most were in the kitchens, cleaning. He hadn't gone unseen, that he knew for certian, but it didn't matter anyway. There was no way they could have followed him all the way out there. The walk there, the ride back, had taken two days and one night. Dusk fell as he returned. Returned 'home'

He walked for a goodly long time, it reminded him of days before he had gotten Ara. A bronze flit came in from between sleepily.
"Hey little one," he whispered to it lovingly, as if if he spoke louder, the flit would shatter into a million peices.
"Did you have a good sleep?"
The bronze chirped lazily. Yohji chuckled.
"Wish I could go between like you, make my life a WHOLE lot easier"

Another important notice, I will soon be having a competition to decide who will be the second in command of the renegades. This person, will take over for me, while I am gone, and they will also have some higher authority. I will most likely be having several of these in the days to come for it should be fun, and more than one person should have the chance. Z'yith - I will be able to get on tonight, and a little today, so I'm going to quickly start the Herder Hall raid, If you don't respond tonight, or if it isn't finished, I'll expect you to finish it for the group. If Chimera gets on, than he gets on. Also, is it possible to get a runner, on the back of a dragon if he flys low? Anyways, I will take my runner Flamewind so that we can herd the mare that we are going to get for Gryffen back. See you there, also like I said I won't be on much for a week, maybe two, so the person, who answers the most of the Pern trivia that someone posted on this page correctly, will be in command while I'm gone. Try to be truthful, this should be out of memory, not straight from the book. I've rambled for long enough, Goodbye.

These are the final assignments for the raid,(we have a much bigger group than last time) Chimera, Zyith, and I will go to the herder hall. Raisa, Gryffen, and Kyssandra will go to the healer hall. Yojhi is staying back and getting some basic supplies, and I haven't heard from Daphne. Rules:
- We start the raid tomorrow morning,
- Stay at the halls for a while,(maybe a day, more or less) to let everyone in your group do some rping.
- When you get back, give inventory. This is simply listing what you got, format is like so:
Healer Hall(or herder)Raid
For the group
-One jar of ointment
-Two large bandages
-etc.
Personally keeping
-a sack of herbs(I don't know why you would want this, but you get the idea)
-etc.
-no more than 4 or 5 items for the group, and 3 to 4 for personal use
-be creative, do good rping, add an element of risk (leave openings for other people to interact with the raiding)

(OOC) I have not been able to come to keep my character active as I have been looking at other areas of the site. It has come to my attention that, sadly, people who have no idea what this site is supposed to be about, and consider it some traditional, hack-and-slash, sword-and-sorcery RPG. Pern is nothing like that. It says in the Rules: “And, most of all, if you haven't read Pern (and don't have someone helping you who HAS read the books) I strongly discourage you from joining. At least read one of the books, to get a grasp of the basics. The finer details come with experience.” Several people have chosen to ignore this warning, and are spoiling this site for everyone else. Some of them are going to the Renegades, thinking they are the headquarters of a Thief class. I say again: This is not a traditional RPG!! We do not have Classes! I had an idea about what we could do to weed out non-Pernophiles. Below are several questions taken from the six most popular Pern books: Dragonflight, Dragonquest, The White Dragon, and The Harper Hall trilogy. Every person whom I believe does not know Pern: (Deranged Slayer, Mephisto, Xthanthus, Gwynthyme and dacook are the ones, I think.) should answer at least four of the questions correctly. Otherwise, we will bar them from our fellowship, and I will make sure that their characters are banished (I do know someone with that power.) (To the people mentioned above: I am not necessarily saying “Go away! We don’t want you here!,” just that your silliness and\ or ignorance are not appreciated. We shall be happy to welcome you to the site, once you have read at least one Pern book and are prepared to take this seriously. This is not Dungeons and Dragons, Diablo, or any other traditional RPG. Pern is not Mithgar; it is, of itself, Pern, created by a different author, with a completely different background. I thank you for your effort.) Oh, and another thing; don’t simply look at someone else’s reply and copy it, they might be wrong, and this does not demonstrate your knowledge of all things Pernese. After several long nights of working, Basillisk's pickaxe finally broke through to the spot chosen farther down on the beach. "Great work, Chimera, gomen nasai Yojhi, your help has not been in vain." The escape tunnel is finished, now for a little break. He walked outside thinking of ideas, maybe a weapons training hall, personal quarters, widden the opening of the spring, etc....

-They begin as a mere speck in the sky, having appeared from between higher than nessisary. Z'yith leans over on a brown ridge, sharp eyes viewing the almsot deserted Crom Hold below him. He could make out the battlements and a few specks, which had to be people or runnerbeasts.-

-Aosuth comments, knowing the answer. Knowing this, Z'yith ansers anyway.-
'You know I do.'
-His mindvoice was surprisingly soft for his near-rugged appearence.- Aosuth ah's and sinks lower into the sky, growing ever closer to Crom. Z'yith peers down continually, starting to make out the faces. He gives up quickly, not because his vision is bad, but because he knows he'll see them up close soon. Afterall, they had been close enough to spot long ago. Z'yith gave Aosuth the command to land, and the brown obliged. As soon as he landed, the man hopped off the dragon with barely any effort. Aosuth swiveled his head, glaring the company down defiantly as his rider spoke in his soft, yet mocking manner.-
"Company of the Renegades, I must say, that with your resources, I'm surprised that you haven't already picked up a dragonrider. I'm here to make up with that loss you so apparently lack. I am called Z'yith, and my dragon is Aosuth. I will be staying whether you will have me or not."
-He left it at that, brushing a strand of his medium-legnth gravel-brown hair out of his face. His dark green eyes soon took on his dragon's glint of defiance as he waited for an answer he would have, whether they gave it to him or not.-

"You people should really pick that stuff up," She indicated the loot on the ground, "Some one could come in and steal it." Chuckling at her own joke, she looked back to see if Yohji was still there.

Chimera scampers out of the undergrowth, alert and anxious. He scurries up to the cave, which he has sometimes used to hide from Thread. There are people inside! He crwls forward, holding the two sharp pieces of metal in his hands. He pushes them forward, gazing pleadingly. "Will you be my friend?" comes plaintively out of his throat.

OOC, this link is going to serve as a hide out for the renegades even though the actual hide out is, "a cave off Igen Weyr." feel free to communicate as if this were a cave and the hide out itself.
Basillisk crept in and surveyed the cave. It would serve as a good hide out, and it looked as if it may have been carved out by thread long ago. He found nothing in it and began to prepare it. The cave can easily be defended and and escape route could easily be carved out on one side, in fact, if some people were brought down, it could be expanded to a bigger hide out. He began to work on improving the cave.
