Subject: Canadian Royal Family and Further Thoughts

On further thought to your ideas, Canada would be best to remain a Kingdom and not become an Empire, as Empire seems to have a sinister meaning in the texts of history with the Belgian Congo and Imperial Japan (pre World War II) etc. as examples.

Second it would make sense to have one of the Bourbon or Orleans family members take the throne of Canada and have Canada as it were, that is to say as a French monarchy the way it originally was before the English came (unbeknownst to the Canadians living in the prairie provinces).
This would excite the French and give the poor Bourbons or Orleans families something to do other than look at Versailles and wonder what could have been. They have suffered so much through the course of history, the revolution was just the start, and today they have not been too successful in life especially, with the recent failed engagement of the Duc de Vendome, and so on.
As for the Canadian nobility, who wouldn't be proud to say they are a Baron or Countess because their great-grandfather was a great Canadian? Who would not want to be a part of the fabric of the history of a nation? But in addition to this, I do not believe that with ennoblement a family should be granted land at the expense of the state. The title and honour to be carried in perpetuity would be all.
As for Iceland and Greenland, that seems a little extreme as they were never part of Canada to begin with. But if Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra of Denmark were chosen as the new rulers of Canada, then you would have a very small chance at Greenland, maybe?
