Subject: New Capital city for Canada

Dear Group,

Here is another idea for our platform. The current capital city of Canada, Ottawa, is situated in an area of Canada that gives the easterners of Canada way too much influence, to the detriment of much of the rest of the country. Imperial Canada proposes to move the capital. Our proposal is to build a new capital city in the Flin Flon, Manitoba and Creighton, Saskatchewan areas.
There are several important reasons for this idea. The area were suggesting is right south of Canada's geographic center. It is right along a provincial boundary, thus making the establishment of a special National Capital District quite easy. Being far more centrally located than Ottawa, the federal government of Canada would be much more able to balance it's priorities for each region of Canada. By this we mean that the provinces of Ontario and Quebec would would no longer monopolize the attention of the federal government, and thus make the other provinces feel ignored. At the same time, this move would, hopefully, spur more development and population growth in the western provinces of Canada. It would also, most importantly, get Ottawa, literally, out from under Quebec. Therefore Quebec's whining would be a lot easier for Ottawa to ignore. Getting back to the issue of more growth and development in the Canadian west, as the western provinces grow and have a greater voice in Canada, Quebec would simultaneously become a lesser voice in Canada, and hopefully would get the message that the federal government of Canada isn't listening anymore. At that point they would either, grow up a little bit and learn to get along, or they would get in their little corner and sulk like the little children that they are. Either way it would be just fine, because Canada's capital would be far enough away from Quebec that they will be out of the new capitals face with their childish attitudes.
Literally the city will have to be almost completely rebuilt. The area has much natural beauty already. Building a new and thoroughly modern city there for an Imperial capital is certainly do-able. Properly planned, and meticulously rebuilt acording to such a plan, a new city in the area we propose for a new capital would be a capital city that Canadians can regard as a major point of national pride. This, along with crowning an Emperor of the Canadian Empire would go a long way towards putting Canada on the road to greatness among the nations of the world. We belive that the spirit of national renewal and pride that this would instill in Canadians would be a major jump start for Canada to make many of the other changes that are so desperately needed to solve so many of the other issues that perplex the people of Canada so much right now.
Obviously, the city will have to be renamed. The name Flin Flon simply will not do for our new capital city. Therefore, our last point of this message, what will we call our new capital city? We ask all of you to offer suggestions for a name for a new capital for Canada. We look forward to your suggestions.
