Understood, but I guess it depends on whether you want to build your own stuff and learn, or just buy it. The problem is, the next time there's a code update, you'll have to go through it all over again. If it costs, say $20-$25 in parts and shipping each time, you're probably better off having that capability for yourself. Of course it helps if you're interested in doing other things with it too. There is almost no way that I could have gotten my SA autoinvert code working if I didn't have a programmer to test my work. Simulators can only go so far.

What country do you live in? I would be concerned about customs myself were I to send a pre-programmed chip to you. Especially with the heightened security as a result of the WTC attacks, they would probably wonder what the hell I was sending over there. If it was code-protected, they wouldn't be able to read it and that would probably make it illegal. If it wasn't and they figured out what it was, well they probably wouldn't be too happy about that either. It may fall under the realm of crypto-related technology. At the very least, I would probably make a 'list' of folks who were involved in potentially dubious activities, and I could potentially look forward to a lifetime of increased scrutiny of my activities.

Probably not a good thing.

- Phil
