Ok. I understand.

Do you have a 16C56? If you haven't already bought one, I'd suggest getting the 16F84A instead. I'm using primarily Scenix chips but I have a couple 16F84A-20s too. I love EEPROMs.

Finding a cheap 16C56 programmer might be a problem. Most of the 16C5x programmers are based on David Tait's Parallel PIC circuit.

There are lots of cheap, easy to assemble Serial PIC programmers available for the 16F84A.

Code has been written for both the 16C56 and 16F84A but I don't recall if anyone tested it on your system.
