Most modern VCRs/TVs will blue screen if they detect a 'bad' signal and this is hard to overcome in some.
Check the amplitude of the input signal - if it's something like 2V pk-pk you need the 75 ohm loading resistor on the input to get it within spec (about 1V from black to highest white level)
The code is very sensitive to the oscillator setting - slightest error means no lock at all.
