The rev7t1a code does not look at any data and does not do anything with the burst. The burst in most 3chip designs is simply passed through. Some 3chip designs have an amplifier to adjust the gain of the burst to match the original attenuation caused by scrambling so that the burst comes out at the correct amplitude. Almost all designs have some hue problems, most likely caused by phase differences in the burst amp. I think that Canton5 has a phase adjustment in the burst amp.
