My 3chip also had purple faces. I was able to improve it by using a 74HC4066 instead of a regular 4066. Some people reported that stacking another 4066 on top of the first one so that they are in parallel also improved the picture.

The different paths for video and burst are causing phase shifts which change the hue of the picture. Ideally, the burst should go through the normal gate of the 4066, but getting the dc level right may be a problem.
