RC,

The Rev7T1D2 code supports SA autoinversion. The cable system I used while developing that feature used SA 8600x and 8610x set-top terminals, although I never caught them doing RRI like I've seen on Zenith SSAVI systems in the past.

One potential problem with this code is that it uses the split-sync which is present during inverted video modes as a flag to invert the FOLLOWING frame. So if they rapidly change modes, then you could get a single frame of inverted video each time they switch. I might be able to revise the code to change modes during the same frame, but there isn't a lot of processor time left over on a 20MHz PIC to do it properly. PIU was working on some code that did it the "right" way, it looked at flag lines in the VBI to determine the video mode in use. He seemed to be close to getting it to work, but I don't know if he actually ever did.

It would be interesting to see what kind of results you get with that code in your area.

- Phil
