ChuckY,

I'm interested in the reset/re-enable procedure you talk
about, by the way once I heard that using a diode you
could prevent the box from being disabled, the diode would
go between pin 5 and 16 of the s h a r p - t o c o m 40pin
IC with the catode pointing to pin 5. here's a schematic
(the diode is a general purpose 1N4001)

Although I haven't tried it, I would need to reset the box
first.
