you can buy Imovie for about $75. I have both FCP and IMovie- and i use IMovie for now. It's so simple to use- and has its flaws- but great to start with. The digital quality is the same with both programs. They have a new IMac that has Imovie on it- also a DVD burner, and a flat screen monitor-- for $1,800.
