Hi Steve, I can't even guess what the coin is but it does sound interesting. You may be able to clean up some of the buld up on the coin by using some table salt in warm water and hooking up your coin to a 9V batery and the other connection to a Stainless spoon, but be carefull and keep checking the coin if you go too far you will ruin it.
