Subject: Former Member of US Army Field Band

A former member of this band in 1946 and 1947. Would like to hear from any of you who were members at that time, such as Joe Lepresti, Ted Hilpert, Rodney Moon, Don Mancelli or any others.
Would love hearing from you.
Don

George (Beau) - I enjoyed all of the pictures that you posted of Dad (Fieldbandsman Frank Whiting) and Uncle Chet (Chief Warrant Officer Chester E. Whiting) - it was all quite thrilling for me to see the pictures, since I had heard so-o-o-o much about the "good old days" when Dad had played in the band. The time spent with the band brought so many more years of joy to him after he had to leave (due to disability) - and I remember the glow on his face each time he would tell some story about the band. Even though I never had the honor to hear the entire band play, I was blessed to be able to hear Dad play his "air trumpet" many years later. I hope that many generations to come will be able to have a fraction of the joy that I was blessed with through Dad's account of those days.

God bless all,
Bonnie Roberts (Whiting)

P.S. Beau - Please get in touch with me to pass on a message to Frankie regarding a death in the family. Thanks!
