OUT IN A MEADOW WITH THE WIND BLOWING FREE
SAT A SWEET LITTLE BIRD HIGH UP IN A TREE.
HE HAD NO WORRIES HE WAS SO CAREFREE
AS HAPPY AS A LITTLE BIRD CAOULD BE.
BUT THE SKY GREW DARK AS A STORM MOVED IN
WITH LIGHTIN', FLASHIN' AND THUNDERIN'.
NO MORE BLUE SKY, NO SUN SHINING BRIGHT
THE DAY HAD DARKENED AS BLACK AS NIGHT.
THE LITTLE BIRD GREW FRIGHTENED AS HE SAT ON A BRANCH,
"IF I DON'T LEAVE NOW I WON'T HAVE A CHANCE!"
SO, HE QUICKLY FLEW TO A BIG OAK
BUT THE QUICKER HE FLEW THE MORE HE GOT SOAKED.
AS HE LANDED UPON A BIG OAK BRANCH
HE BEGAN SHAKING LIKE HE WAS DOING A DANCE.
WITH A SIGH AND A SMILE HE SETTLED DOWN
AND JUST SAT AND WATCHED AS THE RAIN HIT THE GROUND.
THE STORM QUICKLY WENT AND THE SKY TURNED BLUE
AND AWAY FROM THE BIG OAK THE LITTLE BIRD FLEW.
