Subject: About JD......
In reply to: LC 's message, "Go dust your own brain off . . ." on 21:20:56 01/11/03 Sat

Many, including myself, who have been on ACME for a long time have developed an off board relationship with JD. Take him or leave him, he's consistent, and doesn't always stick up for himself or explain himself in the most clear way.

I have developed a respect for him, although I don't always see eye with him.

Yep, Yep, and Yep to all three sentences.

And I'll add to that: Personally - and I have *no* verification of this from JD himself, it is my own conjecture - I think the "to her knees, shrieking" was exaggerated language to describe the tenacity of the dog and the extent they felt they were going to in order to try to correct. I don't think the dog was actually on her knees shrieking based not only on the fact that it doesn't fit in with the JD I've come to know, but from later descriptions of the incident.

JD excited or enjoying causing even momentary pain to a dog? Never. Not JD.

Does that mean I never disagree with him? No. I disagree with him on a lot of things, and I've said some things to him that I'm ashamed came out of my mouth to any person.

As far as this particular issue: I have to say again, I don't like it. I've solicited some opinions that reaffirm the fact that I Don't Like It. However, my knowledge of training is so incredibly limited that I can't in confidence offer any real opinion on it other than: I. Don't. Like. It.

Doesn't change my mind about JD though. JD a malicious dog abuser? No way, no how. Not the JD I've come to know.
