I get that totally. Like I told Emily over there, I can't tell you how many times I've been in a cat declaw discussion and been a completely sarcastic bitch to someone because it was either make a joke or deck 'em. It's not just pitbull people, I think anyone who feels strongly about something has those moments.

I do wonder, though, how many people I was close to convincing that I ended up losing when I got nasty with someone else.

On the AA thing: Someone thought one of our regulars had their board shut down. She didn't, but the word had already spread like wildfire, and about that same time she had posted about a *different* pitbull site that bothered her so the idea that she had done it was reinforced. It got so bad that one of them told her she needed to be raped with a razor-wire wrapped dildo and taught her place.

There were two people that came with them - FG and Scott(I keep wanting to say Delgado, but I don't think that's it. I can't remember) who calmly and rationally discussed pitbull issues. I learned a lot from them about the history of dogfighting, and also learned that just because someone knows a lot about it doesn't mean they do it. I had a serious prejudice going on prior to that (even though my family had had a pitbull, for cripes sake! LOL), thinking why would anyone bother to learn the history if they don't participate and think it's just a wonderful thing? It's not like it's something they need to know, I thought. That's when I learned that you really can't understand these dogs without understanding what all went into their breeding, so of course it makes sense to learn about it. Learning about it doesn't mean you're doing it or approve of it. That was a hard prejudice to let go, and I think if they had not so distinctly seperated themselves from the other stuff going on at the time, I don't think I would have listened to them.
