Alright, this is where it gets tricky, the whole thing is quite experimental, so be prepared for it to get adjusted and tweaked as we work things out.
First of all, I've allowed anonymous posts, you can post under an alias if you don't want everyone to know who is doing dastardly things. The only catch to this is that I do need to know who's alias's go to what person. I'd prefer it (for my own sanity if you picked an alias and stuck with it) and just dropped me a note or email saying something like. My backgrounds forum alias is the Tooth Faerie. Then I'll know who is posting under that alias. If I don't know who you are, chances are I'll delete and disregard your posts.
Secondly, make sure you familiarize yourself with the backgrounds influence system, located at http://www.diablerie.org/backgrounds.html and know what kinds of things you can do at your influence level.
Contacts and allies can also be used on this list for minor things and information gathering. This is the true purpose for a contact, someone on this inside somewhere that knows what is going on.
Next, all posts are to be considered "possibilities". Occasionally, I'll come on and post the absolutes. So an example post may say The Tooth Fairie is attempting to use him street influence to taint the local supply of LSD" -- an ST response will later verify the results and outcome of this attempt.
Meanwhile, someone else may have streetwise or contacts, and can then post something like "Chester Cheese is attempting to use his street contacts to hear about this dastardly attempt or to know that there's some bad LSD going around" etc..etc. etc.. until finally the thread is closed, with an ST declaring outcomes of all this manipulations.

Okay, again this is a work in progress. There are two posts coming up that are actual game events in progress, orchestrated by certain peoples with certain influences. If you feel you have a way to respond to these machinations, post your "attempts"

And yes this is a semi-moderated list, i can delete posts that are out of line, but i didn't want the headache of making it fully moderated, though that may be a future option if this system doesn't work out well. Ie..we go to moderated and all attempts are approved before the post is seen on the forum. I didn't want to do it this way because attempts are still valid things a character can do, and can be discovered or countermanded by other characters. Again please view this as a work in progress and try to keep your ideas and posts reasonable
