"It is worse with Travis... We are used to death. She keeps wishing for eternal life for those she care for. And she did care for Spark - more than I knew she did." She looks after her niece with worry in her eyes.
Then she looks at Empherio. There is no worry in his eyes; they are all black. She can see the sorrow hidden behind them because she knows it's there, but strangers can't. He is as close to be a warrior as can be without truly being it, and if it hadn't been for her and Sherón, he'd become that for many years ago. Tiriina shudders as she thinks of what might have happend to him. Empherio is brave, and though he is not young anymore, he has powers that can beat most normal, mortal wolf she knows. If he had lost this last connection to a social life, he would have become as careless as an evil wolf too. Tiriina knows, 'cause it had almost happend to them all that time long ago, when they were six months old and saw their mother being killed by their own father. For a long time they had lived on their own among evil wolves, where they easily could get a fight when they needed one or live unnoticed by the arrogant evils the rest of the time. It had been tuff, but the bonds that kept them togetehr also kept them from fully joining the evils and copying their lifestyle. As they grew older, their need of fighting got stronger, and finaly they were chased away by the evil wolves that had gotten enough. They had wandered from place to place for a long time, until they found Travis. She had been the change in their life. Finaly they had found an other meaning in life; an other way to survive. The fights had been what kept them up so far, but now they found something new to appriciate and live for; Travis. Though they didn't know it before they had moved on to Blue River and natraviol, and Travis had followed them. Now they had found their place, and nothing should ever destroy it again.
Sherón nudges Tiriina gently and awakes her from her thoughts. He doesn't say anything, but gives her a friendly nuzzle. He knows what he's thinking. And he knows more; something that neither Empherio nor Tiriina knows, simply because they don't want to face it. They both fear it because it makes them feel weak, but Sherón is not afraid of death, and he knows they'll soon have to face it.

"I think they went to look for Silence..." she says and looks after Spark's sons with a worried look. "I hope they find her." And that she's still the same when they do, she adds to herself, but doesn't say it.
"We're going for a walk, Travis," Tiriina says and gives her an encouraging smile. "Just howl."
Travis smiles back weakly, and the Survivors turn and pad out together. Lill' Travita stands back, feeling small and helpless. She pads over to Azure and curles up close to him. "Hi," she whispers gently and stretches up to nuzzle him.
