Subject: Another real report.

Thanks troy for a breath of fresh, true, realistic air.
Heres, what really happened thusday through sunday on south sandy and salmon river aboard my driftboat. Thursday, floated south sandy and caught one, lost one on a gold/red throat #35 hotshot. Friday floated pineville bridge to the route 3 bridge in the estuary. Was 2 for 5 including a 7lb domestic rainbow (male) and a 6lb female drop-back brown both caught in the Glide behind bruce bartlett's house. Also took another pull-over in the glide as well as a vicious crackdown in the birdhouse and another pull-over in the center channel of the estuary. Hotshot colors were either gold/orange top (Lucille ball) or Gold/red throat (Connie Francis) Connie always goes down!
Saturday, went to south sandy where there was an inpenetrable, continuious raft of slush. I got there early enough to lock up the hole below the bridge at the firehall but didn't want to spent to valueable time waiting for the slush to clear. Instead, went back to salmon river and floated blackhole to estuary for no hits, runs, or errors. Returned to south about 11:00am son after the slush had cleared only to see an un-ethical guide and his sports, lining and /or belly hooking steelhead in the bridge pool.
Once, we got away from the fly-snagging head hunters we were able to get into five nice steelies on and fighting on hot shots but they ALL managed to allude capture. I guess we left our luck in the truck!!!! South sandy was a beautiful float and we had a beautiful day to do it. Sunday we floated pineville to 2A. bridge and were 2 for 2 on hotshots same colors as days previous. In the afternoon after lunch at Altmar hotel, we hooked seven more steelhead on hotshots in the bright afternoon sun landing four of them. ALL were released to fight another day. All were spawned out and ALL but one were males. Today, took a good friend to the lower end of north sandy fishing hot pink bags on six pound test on fly rod and was 2 for seven. Chrome units. NOTHING on oregon cheese glo bugs.....Bummer. That's It. Walleyed
