ABBA Minutes, April 28, 2002

The April 28, 2002 ABBA Meeting was called to order at 9:01 PM EDT.

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as posted.

Old Business:

Please read the BSL boards everyone, so we don't have to announce every post at these meetings.

- State Reports and BSL Updates -

Miami, FL - Several Miami residents described current conditions in Miami/Dade.

New Business:

Please be sure to sign the Miami/Dade Petition and pass it on to everyone on your mailing list and request they do the same. It is in regard to the repeals of BSL in Miami/Dade. The link is posted on the ABBA Board and on the purebredpuppy BSL Forum board. It was sent out on the Hoflin list. Jenn put it together and posted it to petitions online and to petitionpetition.com It was adapted from our Milwaukee petition. This petition is addressed to the Mayor of Miami. This is an issue that will require the cooperation of everyone in Florida.

"Breaking down" into committees might be a good idea--rescue, for example, research, PR. A lengthy discussion ensued in which people volunteered to take on specific responsibilities.

A list of our participants has been started. ABBA now has representatives from every region of the United States.

Brags and Announcements:
Sandy's puppy female took best puppy and my 6 mo 2day female took winners btich or brst female and my grand took grand class and 1-2 male took best male and a reserve and male pup took best male 3-6mo pup ukc show Portland. She has an agility trial next month and blazer has 2 -200 and we are hoping for his third and his agility 1 title in ukc :-) wish us good luck.

Jim got an 88 on his first newscast presentation. On Wednesday, he will do his first sportscast.

Lora's MeMe finished her NA title- she's now AKC CH, UKC GrCh, FAST"E" Hartagold Standing Ovation, CD, NA, NAJ, SCT, CGC, OFA, CERF, DNA-VIP, ROH and her son Jr got another stupid RESERVE to a 5 pt major- WD would have finished him!

Peggy stewarded her first UKC event.An obedience trial in Rochester, NY. The judge was Diane Sano.

Pepper's Kuno got reserve today and yesturday and managed to keep all 4 feet on the ground.. No bouncing , no jumping and very minimal wiggling. He started out at the Louisville shows taking Reserve in Specialty and BOS in Sweeps and has taken either WD or Reserve at every other show since :-)

Kris brought Tahoe home from the hospital today. She has some kidney damage but other than that she should be ok.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:38 PM EDT.
