Kevin, is your breeder located in Ohio? If so, I would think that person would be the best person from whom to receive recommendations for trainers and to get information regarding the temperament of your breed.

I also think you should do an internet search for the Presa Canario breeders. There are plenty of reputable of people in that breed who would be willing to offer advice. Attending UKC shows and Rare Breed shows would also probably put you in touch with others who have experience with your breed.

You are right. Now is the time to train and socialize this large breed puppy. You need to do it while the dog is still young and impressionable and willing to accept you as its 'pack leader'.

I will provide you with a few website addresses to boards that might offer you some help.

Good Luck with Your New Puppy!
