It was recently agreed upon by the participants to try AOL IM as a means of having our meetings. There had been a lot of complaints regarding the use of our website chat. IM provides a chat that does not involve the long wait before a message is posted. People are not experiencing a loss of connection at as high a rate and most importantly, it is possible to save and file the chat and anyone can print the transcript after each meeting.
The drawback is that people need to download AOL IM. (It is a free download.) Also, I believe people who have WebTV are unable to download IM. :-((

Comments regarding our current use of AOL IM are certainly welcome. If you would like to be a part of the meeting and need to download IM, please let me know via e-mail and I will send you an invitation to download. As moderator, I send out the invitation, to chat to anyone who has let me know they want to participate, about 8:45 PM EST.
