SUMMER SHOWDOWN RESULTS

Tuesday, July 25th

Lita vs. Chyna

Any fans in the stands expecting a hair pulling, clothes tearing cat fight are very dissapointed in this match up. The two execute some impressive wrestling manuevers. Lita takes early control with some quick kicks, but Chyna is barely affected and attacks Lita with several powerful moves. She has Lita set up for a powerbomb, but Lita scrambles out and hits Chyna with a Twist of Fate! Chyna is slowly getting up and Lita hits her with everything she has. The onslaught knocks Chyna back to the mat and Lita goes to the top ropes for her moonsault...and hits it! Lita covers Chyna for the victory after a pretty impressive match by both women.

Winner - Lita via pinfall

Dean Melenko vs. Mick Foley

Foley looks a little bit rusty in this match and Melenko capitalizes on that. He hits a lot of great wrestling moves on Foley, apparently trying to show he is indeed the best technical wrestler around. Foley does what he does best however and that is take a lot of damage. He seems to just keep going back for more. Melenko tries using his Texas Cloverleaf submission move, but Foley gets to the ropes. Melenko hits several suplexes on Foley and goes for the pin...but Foley kicks out. Melenko can't believe it. He hits Foley with everything he's got. Finally Foley goes down after an onslaught of kicks, punches, and several suplexes. Melenko even goes to the top ropes and hits Foley with a flying elbow. He goes for the pin...and this time he gets the three.

Winner - Dean Melenko via pinfall

Road Dogg vs. Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrer vs. The Rock

Road Dogg and The Rock don't prove to be much of a factor at all in this match. The two trade blows, but neither amount to anything. The real fight is between Guerrero and Jericho. The two have a great high flying battle back and forth. Jericho hits all his signature moves like the drop kick after bouncing off the ropes and he hits his moonsault, but Guerrero is able to counter with some great moves of his own. Both men look good. Jericho tries going for the Walls of Jericho, but Guerrero counters and kicks Jericho into the ropes. He knocks him down with a dropkick and goes to the top ropes. He hits the frogsplash! Guerrero goes for the pin and gets it after a great mtach up.

Winner - Eddie Guerrero

Tag Team Title Match

Too Cool vs. The Acolytes vs. Edge and Christian (c)

This is a good match up between Edge and Christian and Too Cool. The Acolytes don't play much of a part in this match up. They don't see much time in the ring, but the other two teams put on a good show. It's a high flying, high speed match up. Both teams trade the upper hand. It looks like Edge and Christian have it when Edge nails Scotty with a spear, but Grand Masta Sexay breaks up the pin attempt. Scotty is back up...and signals for the worm! But he is creamed from behind by Christian (The Worm is the absolute worst move in wrestling today. I can't bring myself to have it in the results, I can't!) That doesn't slow Too Cool's momentum however. Sexay hits the Hip Hop drop on Edge and covers him for the win.

Winner and new champions - Too Cool

Perry Saturn vs. Kane

This match is a great slugfest. The two men trade blows back and forth. Kicks, punches, and a few suplexes later Saturn looks weary. Kane is the stronger man and uses that to his advantage. Kane has Saturn cornered and tosses him into the center of the ring showing amazing power. He climbs to the top rope and just as Saturn is getting up he jumps off the top hitting Saturn with a powerful elbow. He goes for the chokeslam, but Saturn is not weakened enough yet. He hits Kane with some kicks to the ribs and a suplex, but Kane gets right back up and nails Saturn with some hard punches. After a long, hardfought, see saw battle, Kane finally hits the chokeslam and covers Saturn for the win.

Winner - Kane via pinfall

Woman's Championship Title Match

Stephanie Mcmahon Helmsley (c) vs. Jacqueline

Stephanie comes down to the ring accompanied by her brother, Shane and gets a lot of heel heat. Jacqueline comes down alone to a pretty decent reaction. Stephanie looks a little bit scared to be going up against someone with wrestling skills. Jacqueline goes after her right away, but Stephanie runs to the outside of the ring. Jacqueline follows but is hit by Shane behind the refs back. Shane throws Jackie back into the ring and Steph goes for the cover...but Jacqueline kicks out! Jackie hits a painfull looking suplex on Steph and goes for the cover, but Shane jumps up on the apron to distract the ref. Steph is finally able to kick out and she runs out of the ring again! Jacqueline follows, but this time Steph is ready and Jackie gets hit in the head with the woman's title belt. The two get back in the ring and Steph goes for the pin and gets it.

Winner - Stephanie Mcmahon Helmsley

European Title Match

Al Snow (c) vs. The Big Show

Al comes down to the ring with Lita to a great fan reaction. Show, like any Corporate member, gets a lot of heel heat. Snow gets the first attack with several kicks to Show's stomach, but Show does not seem to even notice. He grabs Snow by the throat and tosses him to the side. He gets him into the corner and starts pummeling away at him. Al is able to escape, but he already looks fatigued. He takes it to the outside of the ring to regroup, but Show follows him. Al slides through the big mans legs and jumps back into the ring. He uses the ropes to catapalt himself to the outside onto Show, knocking him down. Al gets back into the ring and Show slowly follows. Al tries to turn the tide of the match, but he is unable to. The Big Show continues to have the upper hand. Show signals for the chokeslam but Lita gets onto the ring apron and distracts the ref! Show looks upset. Al scurries to the outside and Show goes after Lita. Lita jumps out of the way and Big Show turns around...right into a chair to the face. The ref imediately calls for the DQ. Al doesn't seem to mind. He slides out of the ring and walks away with Lita and his belt.

Winner - Big Show via DQ

Undertaker vs. Tazz, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Rikishi

The members of the BWO look reluctant to be here. None of the three of them really have any problems with Undertaker. Undertaker comes down and looks pissed. He imediately goes to work on all three of his oponents. He knocks Rikishi out of the ring with some powerful punches. Tazz and Austin double team him and have him cornered near the turnbuckle, but he fights out of it with some kicks. Rikishi slowly gets back into the ring, but he stumbles right into the Undertaker and Undertaker chokeslams the huge man! Just when it looks like the Undertaker might have actually beaten three men The Big Show runs down the ramp! He slams the ref from behind and then gets the Undertaker with a chair! Show gets out of the ring just in time for the ref to wake up to see Austin covering Undertaker. Show has a big smile on his face, but all four men in the ring look quite angry. They chase Show back up the ramp to the back.

Winner - Austin, Rikishi, and Tazz via pinfall

Intercontinental Title Match

Blue Meanie (c) vs. Kurt Angle

Angle comes down doing his usual great mic work to a lot of heel heat. Meanie, as promised, comes down to the ring with the two Mini-Meanies and gets one of the biggest pops of the night. The fans seem to power Meanie and he looks like a maniac in the ring. Bench pressing Mini-Meanies must have paid off because he looks excellent. Angle also looks good, but Meanie is in top form tonight. Angle tries to hit a couple of suplexes, but Meanie counters and knocks Angle down. He goes for the Blue Moonsault...and hits it! He coves Angle and gets the win.

Winner - Blue Meanie via pinfall

World Heavyweight Title Match

Stevie Richards vs. Chris Benoit (c)

Richards gets a great reaction on his way to the ring. The fans really love him. Benoit gets a lot of heel heat. The match is about to start up, but No Chance starts and Vince and Shane Mcmahon make their way down to the ring. Vince has a mic.

Vince - Ya know, I'm so confident that my wrestler, Benoit will win this match up, I'm adding a special stipulation to this match. Stevie, if by some slim chance you happen to cheat and pull off a victory, you'll get me in the ring for five minutes to beat the living hell out of me. But when Benoit wins, the rest of the Corporation is going to come out and beat the snot out of Stevie. Sound good guys?

Both wrestlers seem to think it's a great idea. With so much on the line this is bound to be a great match. Neither man dissapoints. It is a great match up with both men hitting a lot of high risk manuevers. Vince and Shane stay at ring side the whole match, but aren't much of a factor. They mind their business for once. Could they be planning something else? Richards has the upper hand after a missile dropkick from the top ropes, but unfortunately Benoit is knocked into the ref, knocking him down. Suddenly the lights go out. A state of confusion hits the arena, but seconds later a huge pyrotechnic display lights up the arena and a huge form is at the top of the ramp. It is Albert. It is the Callus. He storms down to the ring and immediately attacks Richards!!! He shakes Benoit's hand and steps out to stand by Shane and Vince. Their plan is revealed! Benoit is on top of the ropes ready for the flying headbutt on the helpless Stevie, but Stevie has just as many friends as Benoit does. Al Snow comes flying down to ring side and knocks Benoit off the top ropes. Albert, The Callus, goes right after Snow and the two lock up on the outside while both Richards and Benoit are out in the ring. The ref gets up and begins a slow count for a double count out, but both men are able to get up before ten. Richards seems to have a little energy left in him and super kicks Benoit! Then he goes for the Bastardizer and hits it!!! He goes for the cover. Vince tries to get into the ring, but he is not fast enough!!!! Stevie wins!!!!!!

Winner and new champion - Stevie Richards

Stevie takes Vince up on his offer. The ref almost drags Benoit out of the ring and Richards turns on Vince. The rest of the Job Squad runs down to grab Shane from trying to interfere and Richards goes nuts on Vince. He takes advantage of the stipulation Vince gave him. He hits Vince with a lot of great moves and Vince is powerless to defend himself. After five minutes a team of refs jump into the ring to tear Richards off their boss. Richards has the look of a mad man on him. A very happy mad man. He raises his belt in victory and Jericho, Al Snow, Lita, and Blue Meanie get in the ring to join him in celebration. Kurt Angle and Big Show come down to join Shane, Albert, Benoit, and a very hurt looking Vince. Shane gets into the ring with the Job Squad and has a mic.

Shane - Very impressive Richards, I have to hand it to you. Benoit, I'd like to say one thing to you...you're f@cking fired!!!! You are no longer a member of the Corporation. Lately you have been insulting my father's ref skills, questioning our booking you against Stevie Richards, a man who just proved his skills, and tonight you are directly responsible for my father getting his ass kicked!!!! Even with the help of Albert you couldn't manage a win! Benoit, take your friend Albert and get out of here now.

With that Benoit and Albert are attacked by Show and Angle. The four take the battle backstage and the EMTs escort Vince away leaving Shane alone with the Job Squad.

Shane - Stevie, like I said that was an impressive match. A man like you deserves better then this rabble. A man like you deserves a spot as the Corporate Champion. What do you say, buddy?! A chance of a life time!

Stevie considers this for a moment, then a big smile is on his face as he shakes Shane's hand. Stevie Richards has turned his back on the fans and the Job Squad!!!! He has joined the Corporation!!!! Or so it looks like at first. When Shane has dropped his guard and has a big smile on his face Richards hits him with a wicked clothesline. All five members of the Job Squad boot him in the ribs and Richards takes his mic.

Stevie - Shane, I'm all about the Job Squad. I would never join your bunch of Corporate losers. You're as pathetic as your father.

With that The Job Squad leaves the ring and the show ends after a lot of major happenenings.
