He was wounded, deeply. Be aware that the wounds we bear are the things we can be most effective in healing in others.

I can relate to addiction to tobacco as I was for a good oprtion of my life and can sympathize with those who are trying to quit. I will not be able to relate to alcohol addiction in the same way as that is not something I have experienced.

We can heal others best when we can relate to those wounds we have had ourselves, use that to guide those who are questioning their faith in this way (and others) into helping those in need of simlar healing.

You were talking to a minister, a GOOD one, he just didn't recognize his potential - yet.

Tell him so. Start him on his way to finding his ministry.
