Wow!
Brother Robert, your post literally broke my heart. I am also one of the "dead weights" spoken of, and just like you, the reason is that I simply dont have the means to right now. BUT,let me say this to you and anyone else who desires to hear.
I was ordained through UCMI for one reason...and that reason was to be able to share the Word and Love of Christ with people in local jails around my home. Most of the jails here have a "if your not family, you cant visit" policy, and being an ordained minister was the only other way to reach out to those who needed to be reached. UCMI allowed me to be able to reach out to some that would not otherwise step foot in a church. For that, I am eternally grateful.
I am a ministry leader and counselor at my local church and I follow through and provide discipleship to those who I have ministered to in jail. I own my own business to afford me the time to do the Lords work and right now, I`m still hunting the ends much less making them meet.
So the "brother" who posted the dead weight comment obviously doesnt share the view that our risen Savior does....because I assure you, in His sight, I am not "dead weight".

And, not trying to be rude or ugly in any way, I think the leadership of UCMI should rebuke the person who used that comment. Because whether anyone wants to admit it or not,it has caused division, strife, and hurt feelings within the ministry, and we all know where that comes from. Since the sin here was public, I will expect the repentance to be likewise.
In HIS service,
Rev. Jeff Kersey
