"When the Hurt is too Hard to Handle"

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. (Psalm 55:22)

All my life, I have been what others call a "freak." Because of my stature, I have been picked on, treated differently from others, and even rejected by many. Growing up, many of my friends would talk behind my back, and laugh at the way I looked. As a child, that hurt a great deal. To be teased because of the way one looks can be devastating to a young person. It can leave scars, in the heart of a child for life.

I remember thinking that it would be different when I was older. People would accept me for who I am, and not ridicule me because of the way I am. Well, I am older now. I still get picked on, laughed at, treated differently from others, and I still get rejected by many. Only now, it hurts even more at times. The scars that I received as a child have been replaced by fresh ones. People still look at my outside, not what is inside.

Sometimes, the hurt and rejection is too hard to handle. Many times, I hibernate and block out the world. Many times, I retreat to my "sanctuary" and cry, both physically and spiritually. There are many times that I wonder why I am the way that I am. I wonder why I must be a double dwarf, weighing only 86 pounds. I wonder why others are embarrassed to be around me, so not to ruin their image. Yes, I have been told that by some. I wonder why every relationship I have
(all have been short); end because the lady I am courting is more concerned with what others think. I wonder, I wonder, I wonder.

What do I do when the hurt is too hard to handle? I give it to God. We read in Psalm 55:22, "Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." I give my troubles and hurts to the Father, for Him to carry.”

There are many times that I take it to the Lord everyday. But each and every time, He is there waiting to receive my burdens. He is there with His arms open wide to give me the love that I need and desire. He is there telling me not to worry what others think. He tells me to hold my head high, and be proud of who I am and what I have become. He tells me to trust in Him. Our Father is there, when others aren't Friends, Just like He is there for me, he will be there for you as well.

What ever you are going through, what ever you pain is, what ever the situation is that you can't handle - Give it to Him. Cast your burden upon Him. He will take those burdens from you, and calm your every storm. He loves you, and He will never forsake you. Just let go, and let God!

God is faithful and you can stand on His promises. He will always be there with arms open wide. Let Him hold you for a while.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - amen and amen.
