Subject: VIRTUES-OPPOSITES & PERVERSIONS


Blessed Friday to all.. Just some breakfast food for thought.

GENTLENESS: (The truth of God in the love of Christ)
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meedness unto all men (Titus 3:2). **Kindess, goodness of heart, integrity, goodness in deeds or actions, kindly disposition toward others.

Opposite- Hard, serverity, harsh, rough, abusive, cruel, rude, short, grating

Perversion*- soft, mushy, negligent, careless, inattantive, unbridled.

MEEKNESS (A teachable Spirit)
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, for bearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace" (Eph. 4:2-3)**Accepting Gods dealings with us as good without resistance, a fruit of power, lowly before "God" and humble before man.

Opposite; Arrogance, haughtiness, pride, cockiness, egotism, vanity, conciet

Perversion*- weakness, wimpy, cowardly, spinelessness, timidity, compromise so as to "keep" the appearance of peace.

LONGSUFFERING:
The trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire wanting for nothing (Jas. 1:3-4)

Opposite- chafing, crabby, nagging, touchy, quick to avenge wrong.

Perversion*- lenient, indulgent, permissive, passive.

ENTREATABLE- Whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asks thee, and from him that would borrow from you turn him not away. (Matt 5:41-42)
** approachable, helpful, accessible, cooperative, willing, inclined, amenable, accommodating, respnsive.

Opposite- unapproachable, distanced, cool, reticent, uncooperative, inaccessible, unresppnsive, introverted.

Perversion*- Yes-person, pushover

PEACE:
Thou will keep him in perfect peace whos mind is stayed on Thee; becuase he trusts in Thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength"
(Isa. 26:3-4) **Quietness, tranquility, harmony, concord, repose, serenity

Opposite- war, rage, havoc, discor, conflict, strife, rivalry, clash, fued, brawl, hassle, lelee, rift

Perversion*- neutrality, lukewarmness, indifference, detached, uncommited, uninvolved.

As you know there are many more, but time doesn't allow to much more at this point.

Just a closing thought.

There is a difference between a Peace keeper...and a Peace maker.. (Before I dare delve into the metaphore ahead let me clarify so as not to conflict chapter and vs.)
In the Word it says keeping the peace in the body, take note that this keeping of the peace in this instance is because the Peace..is coming from the Father within the body, the lack thereof is either by the enemy or man.

Yet a "principle" walked out that I have seen over and over is this.
In the "world" (speaking of perversions etc.) A Peace "keeper" will compromise truths, principles, and values to keep the "Illusion" of peace. i.e. maybe if we close our eyes, or vasilate, the opposition (In whatever form) will see our good intentions and reciprocate. Thought?
Evil does not respond in kind to compormise, but rather exploits and capitalizes on it in dominance. Meek does "not mean weak. Jesus was not a milk toast, pale, cowering male, he was a Man of God, and God in the flesh. The world has perverted Meek to weak, Gentle to wimpy, not so...

A peace "maker" will disturb the status quo, or Illusion of a peacefull landscape even if it means a time of confrontation or conflict, in order to protect and secure "truth" into the situation, that real..peace may be present, rather than compromised, avoidance of confrontation to speak truth or take action that would confront the evil or deception that is prevailing in the situation.

In short, it is all about being a peace "maker" rather than cowering to "keep" the peace or the Illusion thereof.

We are:
*More than conquorers through Him who loved us
*Ammbassadors for Christ Jesus
*Sons of God and seated in the heavenlies
*Righteous-Redeemed-Sanctified-Justified- with the ministry of reconcilliation.
* There is a reason the Armour (As in battle) fits on the front not the back..becuase we were not designed for retreat.

The same hand that gently held the children, tenderly wiped the tears from Mary's eyes as her accusers dropped their stones, who passionately embraced the leaper, and carfully broke the bread at the passover, where the same strong hands of the carpenter, the hands that endured the nails, the hands that thrust the desicration from the temple in authority and holy authority. Meak is surley not weak.

Eph 6:10 Be "strong" in the Lord and the "power" of HIS might.

IITim 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

II Tim 4: 1-3
I charge you theefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom;
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their won desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables..but "you" be watchful in all things, undure afflictions, do the work fo an evangelist, FULFILL YOUR MINISTRY..
