Brother Mark,
There is definately truth in your letter...but I must say I agree with Brother McDonald also.
Salt, as Brother McDonald described you (and you have described yourself) was and is used for seasoning and preservation. So its not a bad thing....your letter just seemed to be venting (as you called it) against your pastor (or former pastor) and that, in my humble opinion, is wrong.

When one is a member or becomes part of a denominational church, the most important thing to take into consideration is the word "denomination". Simply defined, it means "division of numbers". I like to describe it this way.
If there was a picture of God that was broken into hundreds of pieces..and every denomination picked up a piece of that picture, none of them would be able to see God in His fullness because of the barriers of the piece that they have. This is not to bash our brothers and sisters over the head with....it just gives us better understanding of the lack of insight some might have.
With that said, I would also like to point out that as David cut Sauls garment as he was relieving himself, there was profound and wonderful spiritual revelation given to us through that story.
Sometimes, we, like David, have the opportunity to see the men and women that God has placed over us in their "nakedness"....we sometimes see the ugly stuff..the things nobody else in the congregation gets to see. I believe that as David cut the covering of Saul, he was overwhelmed with the revelation that what he removed from Saul (his covering in the natural) was removed from him (spiritually). No doubt that Saul was acting a fool...he was definately not someone we would want to hang out with..but he was still annointed- and not to be touched.
I applaud you for your zeal in the faith..but I also must warn you that nomatter what that pastor has done or become, if you heard from the Lord Jesus, then that is who God placed over you, even for a season. There should be no "knocking the dust off your feet" when describing you leaving...you should leave with a kiss. My view is "submission begins where agreement ends". My Bishop makes decisions all the time that I dont necessarily agree with...but I still submit because God has not directed me to part ways yet. But I know that when God does direct me to do so, it will be with the blessing of the Bishop.
I pray strength and wisdom for you in this obviously difficult time.
God bless and if you ever need to chat, please feel free to email me.
In His service,
Rev. Jeff Kersey jnkersey@bellsouth.net
