Subject: FUNCTION IN THE UNCTION PART II

Continuing on from part I, we were into the gift ministries as it pertains to the offices or servant leadership within the body. The next in the scripture refers to Evangelist. This is an individual who has the annointing, and "unction" again if you will, to flow in the ministry of calling people to Christ. Just as people scrath their heads in amazement when one with an Apostolic gifing builds a ministry from a penny and a prayer, God brings fruit to the Evangelist in brining people to Christ.

This is not just one as we might thing of like a TV Evangelist, although could be one travelling etc. but more important is their passion, boldness, and gifting in evangelizing.

The next is Pastors. Although someone may be in a pastoral position they may have one or more of the other giftings, yet their functiioning call is in the office of Pastor. A Pastor has the patience of Job, one who tends the flock, with tenderness and care, edification, exhortation and comfort. He is the warming, loving blanket of leadership. It is a specific and annointed calling just like the others. There are times when one who is a prophet will come speak at a pastors church, by the time the "bottom line, no messing around" prophet is done, the congregation usually needs the tender care of the Pastor in dealing with all the bruised egos, hurt feelings in the flesh by God's correction, and a Shepherding hand to keep them scooting along the path of growth.

Finally the teacher, although, again one may have a combination of giftings, it is expressed through the calling. For example, one may be a teacher. That is his gift and his annointing, yet may walk in a prophetic gifting. So the teacher is one who is moved in taking the word, and making it understandable, operational, transferable. Breaking down the complex into the simple.

So I want to encourage all my fellow UCMI Ministers to prayerfully reflect on "what is my gifting in the body of Christ as it pertains to ministry functions?

Pray much, stay in the word and think about what servant leadership gifting the Lord may have called you to function in within the body of Christ. Stay strong in the Lord!
