 Chres looked at him coolly, his dark occs gleaming red as if he had just drank the life-blood. His facade was emotionless, giving nothing away as he had learned so many years before. His pinions were folded, hiding the eternally bleeding areas where in his torment he had pulled away the feathers. At this moment he was not Chres, the angelical, nor Chres, the anguished.
At this moment he was Chrestomanci: Lord of the Wraith, his birthrite, Slayer of Goodness.

"Lets just say," he snarled, "I should have done what is honor-bound for another a long time ago."

He paused and sneered, "Or we could say: you caught me on a bad day."

His sword rang as he drew it from it's sheath, "Shall we?"
