"So, Captain give you any clues as to why we're here?" Danny glanced around the abandoned warehouse then over to his partner.

"Dunno," Sara shrugged, "just said to be hear at 2:00. Didn't we work a case here about 6 years ago?"

"Hmmm, maybe, all these old warehouses look the same."

"Remember, it was a kid. No clues, never found out who he was or who did it."

"Yeah, I thought that was about 3 blocks over."

"No, it was here," a voice boomed out. "Man this place really echo's." Jarod smirked at the two startled detectives. "Sorry. Special Agent Jarod Charles. You would be Detective's Pezzini and Woo?"

"The FBI going after our cold cases?"

"I'm working on a behavioral case, I think your Johnny Doe might be a part of. One of the first actually."

Danny raised his eyebrows, "child serial killer?" He cringed remembering Dalek a couple of years earlier.

"I understand this might his close to home, Detective Woo and I apologize but you and Detective Pezzini were the primary's on this case and your captain said that you both had experience working out of the box as they say."

Sara and Danny shared a long suffering look. "How out of the box are we talking, Agent Charles?"

"Have either of you ever worked with a psychic imager or an empath?"

"That's more of a California thing isn't it? I think you need to talk to our Rookie." Sara chuckled.

"Pez, play nice, huh." Danny rolled his eyes and turned back to Jarod, "no, we haven't
but I have read a few articles, pro and con on it. I find it rather intriguing but it's not me you'll have to convince, its her. I leave for vacation tomorrow, but trust me she's never even been in a box."

"You can't go on vacation fast enough, Woo."

Jarod chuckled enjoying the rapport between the two detectives, they had obviously been friends for a long time. He glanced at this watch, "my friend, Chris, the empath/imager, should be here pretty soon. His flight was supposed to get in an hour ago. I better go out and see if he's here." Jarod hopped up and bounded out the door with his usual exuberance.

"Outside sounds good." Sara and Danny followed Jarod, "so if he is psychic shouldn't he be able to find us?"

"Pez, it's not that type of psychic, from what I've read its like a photo taken on the same bit of film. The images from what was there before over lap with the present time."

"I hate you're gonna miss this, Danny, you sound into it."

"Think about it being able to walk into a crime scene and have flashes of the victim before the murder or even during. It would be a dream come true for most cops."

Or a nightmare she thought to herself. "And there aren't more of these people working as officers, why?"

"Probably people like you." He waggled his eyebrows and grinned. "Looks like he's here."
They watched as Jarod grabbed a man in a bear hug.

Sara frowned the man that closely shadowed Jarod looked familiar but she couldn't place him. He was tall and dark like Jarod.

"Detectives, I'd like you to meet Chris..."

"NOTTINGHAM?"

Sara gaped at her former stalker, his hair was short and he had shaved his beard though it apparently had been several days since he had touched a razor.

"Oh, you know each other?" Jarod glanced from Sara to Ian who was resembled a deer in headlights.

Sara had a quick flashback of the evil clone. "Ian?"

"Yes, Sara."

"He called you Chris."

"My middle name is Christian. I went by Chris when Jarod and I were in," Ian paused searching for the correct word for The Centre, "school together."

Jarod snorted, "yeah, the old alma mater."

"Interesting new look you've got," Sara wasn't so sure she liked it.

"My swordmaster died last week, I went to Burma to honor his memory and say goodbye. It is considered disrespectful to go into mourning with facial hair." He turned to Jarod, "I made the mistake of having my hair in a ponytail and An Sei took out those awful sewing scissors of hers and whack. Said shaving wasn't enough, giggled with glee and shuffled off."

"How old is she now?" She had been a shriveled old woman when he'd first met her as a boy.

"At least two thousand by now, I can't believe she outlived him." Ian eyed Sara and Danny who were still trying to figure out this association. "Ah, you never said we would be working with the NYPD."

"Do you have a problem with that, Chris?"

"I do not but my father thought he could add the 11th Precinct to his empire." Ian gave Sara a remorseful look.

"Of course he did."

"It will be fine," Sara said guardedly.

"I assume the crime scene is somewhere around here, I'd appreciate it if we could get on with this before jet lag sets in permanently."

"Yeah, you do look like hell."

"Thanks, J. You're a real pal." Ian followed the trio into the warehouse, "you going to give me some background?"

"Nope."

Ian heaved a heavy sigh and began to wander around the warehouse. After circling the interior he pointed to a corner, "the body was here, covered in canvas," he closed his eyes. "No, it was oily, like a ships tarp."

Danny nodded to Sara, "he's right so far."

Ian stared at the spot for several minutes before turning around to face them, "It was a little boy, he wasn't killed here."

Sara started to answer him but Jarod held up a hand to stop her, "what do you feel?"

"Fear," Ian frowned, "but not from him, from two men. Vagrants, they found the body and were frightened that they would be blamed."

"Anything else? Anything from the victim, the killer?" Jarod prodded.

"He wasn't killed here, just dumped, there are no residual emotions. Jarod, do me a favor, don't play Sydney," he said as he rejoined the group.

"Here," Jarod thrust the crime scene photo's in his hand. "You were right."

"I know."

Just the corner of Ian's mouth raised in a cross between a sneer and arrogant grin and Sara shivered, this was the first time she had ever noticed a resemblance between Ian Nottingham and Kenneth Irons. She and Ian trailed behind Jarod and Danny. "So, you're a psychic?"

"Not in the ways that you think. It's a bit like you see things I imagine." He looked pointedly at her wrist.

Sara twisted the Witchblade around, "it doesn't show me as much anymore."

"The natural ebb and flow of the balance of power. A great evil has been removed from this earth, although many remain, it feels no need to seek them out and they are not as drawn to it. Semi-dormancy, perhaps." Ian gave her a sad smile, "I wanted to call you, to resolve our differences but I never seemed to muster the courage."

"You've been pretty busy cleaning up Vorschlag."

"Yes, I legitimized all of his business dealings."

"Guess that empath thing came in handy in board meetings?" Sara tried to lighten the heavy mood.

Amber eyes met hers, "he could have hired protection, and he never planned dying so he had no need to groom an heir, you do the math."

"You two coming?" Danny called out breaking the tension that had quickly permeated their conversation.
