Thanks for the kudos...glad you like it, I'm having a blast playing with all the characters.....

Sara entered the converted warehouse, "Hey, Jarod."

"Sara. How's our boy doing?"

"He was talking to Sydney when I left, I'm going to call and check on him a little later." Sara was still a little unnerved by the interrogation from his wife, so she wasn't planning on elaborating on anything else with Jarod. "So, what's new on the case?"

"I have a list of possible suspects that fit Ian's profile."

"That's great!"

"Not really," Jarod pointed to a stack of boxes, "those are filled with personel files that work. We've got to get Chris to narrow the field but I don't want to push him with all he's going through."

"I think you should let Ian make that choice, if you take this away from him, I don't think he'll react well."

"Yeah, I know. He finished what he starts, he feels honor bound to find this killer."

It sounded more like Parker talking, she could really do a number on you, Sara thought. She didn't think, now that dear old daddy was gone, that Ian did anything Ian didn't want to do. But she wasn't entirely sure Jarod had presented the situation to Ian with all the facts so she wasn't going to comfort him. "Had Ian refined the profile?"

Jarod tapped his forehead, "didn't write it down, it's all up here. These fit his original profile, not the one after he found the skeleton in the wall."

"Did you have any idea that he could sense something like that?" This empath thing still had her a little confused.

"We have a friend, Angelo, who is a complete empath, you give him a bubblegum wrapper he can glean off emotions of the person who held it. I never expected Ian to be able to do anything on this level, no."

"If you didn't know if Ian could do it why not use Angelo?" If you had a sure thing why use a pot shot?

"Angelo can't function outside of an institution, he was too damaged by The Centre to survive in the real world."

"This place still exists?"

"The buildings do, the business doesn't. There are a few people like Angelo who have nowhere else to go. It's like a hospital now."

Sara's cell rang halting any further questions. "Pezzini." She frowned listening to Jake's near panic, "just slow down." She held the phone to her chest, "Jarod, do you need me this afternoon or are we going to start over tomorrow? My partners got one of my informants that refuses to talk to him, wants me. They are about to the deadline of cutting the suspect loose."

"We'll start over tomorrow with Ian, you go."

"Rookie, chill, I'm on my way." She called Ian as she waited for a cab, she go Sydney, who told her Ian seemed fine and was on a call overseas. "Tell him I'll talk to him later." Sydney promised and Sara got into a cab that finally stopped. Traffic was miserable giving her time to reflect on her earlier conversation with Parker. Were she and Ian predestined to be together? He or at least a close fascimale was the constant in each Wielder's life. She remembered his smell, the feel of his arms, even the positions they slept in were familiar. She was a restless sleeper, more often than not ending up half falling off the bed or at the very least kicking her covers to the floor, but curled up with him, she found a peace even in turmoil.

"Lady, you're here." The cabbie's voice jerked her out of her thoughts. She tossed him the fare plus some for not pestering her on the ride before striding into the Eleventh Precinct in search of McCartey.
