With Ian safely ensconced in Sydney's room discussing what happened last night, Sara went in search of coffee. She found Parker in the kitchen, "Morning."

"Nice to see you don't put a good in front of it," Parker quipped.

"Not a fan of them either." Sara poured herself a cup of coffee, sitting across from the woman.

"You'll be even less a fan when you get pregnant and can't have coffee."

"That's gotta be rough, you want me to take it elsewhere?"

"No, thanks for the offer though. Ian's not joining us?"

"He had a rough night, he's talking with Sydney now."

"I told Jarod not to bring him in on this, that it was too much for either of them to handle, but he doesn't listen to me. He appeals to Ian's sense of loyalty and honor and snap, Ian is right there to help out regardless the consequences. I warned both of them not to do this, but they didn't listen," Parker railed as she went for another cup of tea. Sara lost track of the conversation until those bright blue nearly lavender eyes pinned her. "So, do you love him or are you toying with him? I want the truth, he's been screwed around enough."

"Whoa! Whoa! I have never seen anyone go from good cop to bad cop that fast and I grew up in law enforcement."

Parker gave her a smile that belied the innocence it portrayed, "Answer the question, Detective."

"I care for him a great deal, I don't know if I'm ready to admit to myself or anyone else any more than that. We've had a rocky relationship up to this point, there were a lot of factors keeping us apart."

"So, you think you are meant to be together?"

"Predestined?"

"Something like that, so do you?"

"It feels very right being here with him, he knows things about me and vice versa that no one else knows, he doesn't mind my job, he accepts my flaws....I don't know you, why am I telling you this?" Sara couldn't believe how little it had taken for this woman to break her, good grief. What was it about those eyes that make her spill her guts out on the breakfast table.

Parker gave her a little half smile that almost looked like a sneer, "I'm very good at anything I put my mind to. Ian is extremely special to me, we understand things about each other that other people don't. If you're going to break his heart, I want you to cut him loose now, do I make myself clear?"

Vibrant green eyes clashed with odd blue ones, "crystal."

Ian stood in the doorway and watched the woman lounging on the bed with a book. She didn't look up, just patted the satin comforter. He padded over and curled up beside her, she kissed the top of his head, "have a good talk with Sydney?"

"Yeah. Sara go into work?"

"Umm hmm, she would have told you goodbye but didn't want to interupt."

"Do you like her?"

"Does it matter?"

"No, but I would like you both to be friends."

You want us to have a foursome? Bridge on Tuesdays, movie nights on Fridays, Saturday game night, that sort of thing?" He didn't answer just shrugged. "I'm sorry, you want normal, none of us will ever have normal."

"I don't want normal, I want what you and Jarod have. I want someone to miss me if I'm disappear, someone to snuggle with, I want a family."

Parker knew exactly what he was talking about, she had longed for it raged against it and finally found it after too many years. "Do you love her?"

"I have always known her and loved her but now I am beginning to really care for her. Before it was remembered emotions, the image of her but it is reality now. I am more than I was and I know it, she knows it. She now sees the real me and I see her." They were silent for a long moment and Ian suddenly sat up, "May I?" He pointed at her slightly bulging middle.

Parker arched an eyebrow, "may you what?" The fascination on his face was obvious, Jarod was the same way. "Go ahead, you'll just sulk and pout if I don't let you. Just no baby talk to my stomach ok?"

Ian's whole face lit up and he wiggled his fingers that hovered just above her belly. Parker rolled her eyes, "oh, for God's sake just do it." He placed both hands on her belly, closing his eyes, he grinned and suddenly took a deep breath. Parker could almost see the frission of energy that hit him. He gasped wide honey eyes full of wonderment caught hers. "What? You've got a Cousin It expression?"

"Do you know?" He was grinning like an idiot, not an expression she was used to seeing on his clever face. And whatever he knew took prescedence over chastising her for calling Angelo names.

"Know what?!"

"There's two." He bounced on the bed.

"Your sure? Twins?"

"I felt them both, their heartbeats, their...." he searched for a word, "aura's."

"What are we going to do with two?" She knew multiple births were more likely in her age group and twins did run in the family but two.

"I'll take one."

"You idiot," Parker burst out laughing at his eagerness. "You think I'd let you have one of these after all the trouble you've gotten Gem into."

"I didn't think you knew about that."

"He told Broots, Broots told me."

"You mad?"

"Honestly, no, I think you're good for him. Jarod is to jealous that he gets the dad he didn't, Major Charles is still hunting for Maggie, but you focus on Gemini. He needs that, he needs the challenges you give him. And for all your little miscommunications, you two are good for each other. I wish you were closer geographically."

"You think Major would let him spend the summer here?" He gave her a hopeful look.

"I'll work on it. You think you could tell what they are?"

"I can try."

"What are you two doing?" Sydney asked the hint of humor in his voice obvious. Parker was laying flat on the bed as still and peaceful as he had ever seen her, her cohort on his knees, hands over her middle, eyes closed, his face in rapt concentration. Getting a response from neither party he just watched. Ian snapped out of what he would have called a trance of some sort and laughed.

Parker's eyes snapped open, "well?"

"You really want to know?"

"YES! What are they!" Parker wasn't a patient woman.

"They?" Sydney questioned as he came to stand by the bed."

"Parker and Jarod are having twins, I put my hands on her belly and felt them, so I tried to see if I could tell what they are."

Parker reached over and grabbed him by the collar, pulling his face so they were nose to nose. Through clenched teeth she ground out, "WHAT ARE THEY, NINJA BOY?"

Most men would have answered immediately, Jarod would have folded like a bad hand, Broots would have soiled himself then fainted, when Ian kissed Parker on the tip of her nose, Sydney wondered for his former protege's sanity. "You haven't called me that in years."

"IAN CHRISTIAN NOTTINGHAM, TELL ME RIGHT NOW!!!!"

"Maybe we should wait for Jarod." Ian didn't seem at all phased by the furious woman that now had both hands wrapped around his neck.

"Christian, I think it might be prudent if you told the lady what she wants to hear," Sydney said softly hoping he wasn't about to witness a crime.

"You have a daughter and son." He leaned over and kissed away the tear that slid down her cheek, "congradulations, Parker. He smiled at her and stood, "they are hungry, I think you better go feed them."

"What? They told you that?"

"Nah, felt your tummy growl," mischief dripped off him as he winked and exited the room.

Sydney watched him go, "why do I get the feeling they boy knew just what he was doing when he hid all his talents from The Centre?"

"I'm going to have a boy and a girl, Syd." Parker rubbed her hand over her abdomen looking up at the man that had been the best father figure she'd ever had.

"I am so happy for you, Parker. I'll just leave you alone to call the proud papa."

"I want to wait to tell him in person tonight, he'll be useless today if I call him."

Sydney laughed, "Well then, why don't we go downstairs and get you three something to eat, I'm sure all you had was tea."

"You know me so well, Syd." She kissed him on the cheek as they made their way to the kitchen.
