The trio stared at the boxes when they returned to the warehouse. Ian flipped open the top oned, plopped down on the floor, "now we've got a new perimeter, widower, remarried, so add that to son lost in service, we can whittle this down." He glanced at the long faces on his patners, "what? It's not all glory, guys, we gotta do the leg work."

"Will you know him if you see him?"

"Probably not, there is not real emotion in these photo's, but I can't predict."

Ian seemed undaunted by the ten boxes full of files. She hated this and always felt like she missed things in files like this. Jarod seemed to be of like mind but he sat down pulling a box towards him as well. She covertly watched Ian from time to time as he zipped through folders, sometimes humming outloud, sometimes just moving his feet in some sort of internal rhythm, it was very childlike and extremely endearing. They filtered through files until they were down to two boxes and the day was gone. Sara layed back on the floor rubbing her eyes.

"Ok, stop. I can't read anymore, it's all melting together." Jarod glanced at his watch, "good grief, we've been at this for six hours." He popped Ian on the foot, "hey, stop! We're going to start fresh tomorrow morning."

"But there are just three boxes left."

"Sara what do you want to do?" Jarod glanced at her.

"I want food and a shower." She tried to mimic Ian's puppy dog eyes but she doubted it was as effective.

"I can finish it alone if the two of you are tired."

"We'd find you hunkered over these boxes tomorrow morning."

"But..."

"You would sit here until you finished wouldn't you?"

"Yes, he would, it's something inherent in Pretenders that we have to force ourselves to overcome," Jarod said to Sara. He turned to Ian, "just because you start a project doesn't mean you go without break until it is finished. I am not going to let you go into an obsessive compulsive state over this case. This will take time and research, it is a cold case not a ride in an conquer."

Ian sulked for a minute staring at his shoes, "fine, let's go."

As Jarod gathered his things Sara slid an arm around Ian's waist, "maybe we could get some takeout and watch a movie tonight?"

His face broke with a breathtaking smile, "you'll stay the evening?"

"I packed for a couple days just in case."

Grinning he leaned over and stole a kiss, "good."

"Awwww, how sweet."

Both of them turned to a smirking Jarod. Ian frowned but quickly strode over to him, grasped his cheeks in his hands and gave him a smacking kiss on the lips that was more noise than anything. Ian stepped away, "better, now?"

Jarod spit, sputtered, and wiped his lips, "yuck! Why did you do that?"

"Didn't want you to feel left out. Shall we," he held out his hand to Sara.

"So, how was it?" She was trying not to laugh.

Ian gave a horrified gasp, "A gentleman never kisses and tells."
